I've worked with 3D art, animation, modeling, game design, cinematics, and more since my early studies in 2001. Since then, I've always invested my money in PCs, as they've been my primary tool for work in the industry. It's crucial to have the best hardware, as technology and software are constantly evolving.

In 2012, I invested in a workstation with dual Xeons and 64GB of RAM. It was fascinating to see how the computer could handle multiple applications simultaneously, leveraging multiple cores and threads. It was a great experience, and to this day, the hardware is still working pretty well.

Let's fast forward to 2025, and it's time to upgrade my Gen 3 workstation PC to a new Gen 5 PC. Here's my new setup, and I hope you'll enjoy the configuration and get an idea of what to build:

That's my new setup. This Gen 5 system should serve me well for now, and I'm confident I can upgrade the GPU and monitor in the future, extending the system's lifespan.

Building the Ultimate PC for Game Development in 2025. I hope my setup inspires you to build your own and start working on game development projects. For me, it's not just work - it's a passion. Developing games is incredibly fun and challenging. Good luck with your own projects!

That's a tough road; I've never invested more than $2,000 in my game marketing, which is one reason why it doesn't achieve strong sales, despite having an 8,000-strong Steam wishlist, big YouTubers playing it, and positive reviews. It simply doesn't matter, Steam showcases your game alongside thousands of others. The numbers just don't add up. You need millions of views to get noticed by the market, and that's exactly what a publisher can deliver.
